Reply:Welcome Ben, professor or student? You need not use a calculator or even more than a pencil and paper. Go to your local grocer and watch what they buy and ask is this your favorite. They might be buying for someone else. But, at the end of the day ice cream makers have done this based on sales, the winner believe it or not is vanilla. Mine is always chocolate.
Reply:I wouldn't bother. The ice cream industry has already done this a number of times over the years. They have found that plain vanilla always comes in first place, although in some surveys (like this one: http://gourmetfood.about.com/b/2006/07/0... ) chocolate comes in first (15% for chocolate, 12% for vanilla). Google "favorite ice cream" for lots of web sites about it.
