a) A car manufacter wants to find out if Canadian familes with young children a minifan to a SUV as the family car.
b) A district school board wants to know how many students who are in grade 10 math achiv scores over 90%
Census or Sample ?
a) "survey" can provide highly reliable estimates from a (surprisingly) low number of candidates.
b) "census" of precisely how many students so that school board can provide documentation of achievement to regulators, parents and students. Commencement excercises for example list student names who have achieved academic high scores.
