Random sample question?

In surveying a simple random sample of 1000 employed adults, we found that 480 individuals felt they were underpaid by at least $3900. Based on these results, we have 95% confidence that the proportion of the population of employed adults who share this sentiment is between 0.45 and 0.51." For this summary statement, identify the:Point estimate of the population proportion. Round to two decimal places.

Random sample question?
The point estimate is going to be the midpoint of the confidence interval. The width of the CI is .06, so the point estimate is .45 + .03. You could also look at the sample data - 480 out of 1000 adults give you "p-hat" = 480/100 = .48
