Survey for teens: topic- books?

on our 4th year we will be making a book for our thesis. since i'm taking up fine arts, it should be fully illustrated..

i'm having this survey to find out what kind of books young adults reads more..

questions:

1) what kinds of books do you like to read? (e.g. romance, fantasy, sci-fic, true to life stories, novels, comics..etc...)

2) what kind of stories do you like?

( romance, futuristic, comedy, classics, horror..etc)

3) What kind of illustrations attracts you?

(photomanipulated, digital work, paintings, watercolor, abstract ..etc.) give sample illustrations (e.g. harry potter)

3) do you prefer cartoons, manga or realistic people?

4) do you like to read fairy tales? or at least fairy tale-like plotted stories?

5) give title of books you like, and why do you like it?

6) do you prefer animals, plants and objects (ex. the tale of peter rabbit) as characters in a story over people?

7) if you will make a story, what would it be about?

and why?

thank you

Survey for teens: topic- books?
1)Novels, fantasy

2)comedy, futuristic, magical, mystery

3)paintings, abstract(A Series of Unfortunate Events)

4)Semi-Realistic

5)I love to read fairytale stories, just not too often. every once in awhile so that I do not tire of them.

6)A Series of Unfortunate Events- Catharsis

Xanth Novels by Piers Anthony- The idea that a magic land exists is tantalizing. By reading these books I get to experience a bit of magic.

V.C. Andrews novels-Catharsis and humanity's flaws. These books are like enriched soap operas. Fun to read and a tangled mass of plots, but they keep you wanting to read more to find out what's going to happen next.

7)I think animals and plants etc. can be entertaining but I prefer people because they are more dynamic and I can relate to them better.

8)If I were to make a story it might be about

A-a girl experiencing a variety of unfortunate changes in her life in a short period, i.e.She finds out she's adopted, she falls in love with her brother but she doesn't know he's her brother, someone close ot her dies.

B-A futuristic world where everyone lives on different levels of the planet and everyone lives in their own room. The topmost layer of the earth(the part where we live now) would be reserved for the richest and most talented people.

C-someone being transported to a fantastic magical land

I would write about these topics because I find reading about them enjoyable.
Reply:1.)I like to read romance, fantasy, true to life stories, novels, and anime, but the fantasy can't be too out of this world, it has to be something that could possibly be true somewhat like how (I know this is geeky)Harry Potter and Twilight were written regular people don't know about it so it could be true, but it still is fantasy because it is not something you would see on the stree ie. wizard, vampire, warewolf.

2)I love them all, but stories are best written when multiple genres are used........

3.)I like photomanipulated, digital work, paintings, and the style they use when drawing anime/manga....but not too many hard, angleur lines.......(exampes.........look for a manga/anime called Fruits Basket and then there is a manga in the back of almost every Cosmo Girl magazine that I just love and I love the story line for their mangas also......I would suggest reading them......but get the magazines from the beginning of the year because I think they had a different artist and I like their drawings better...........you can see the manga on the Cosmo Girl website they have all of the past issues mangas on there...

3)I prefer manga/realistic looking.....like I could almost walk straight into the pages (example........CosmoGirl manga)

4.)I like fairytale and fairytale like plotted stories........(ex........Wicked, Confessions of an ugly stepsister, Mirror Mirror, all by Gregory Maguire.........I absolutly adore his books.........

5.)wow.......I have sooooooo...... many books that I like for so many different reasons but I will list my all time favorites.........*this is gonna be hard*

Harry Potter series%26gt;%26gt;the fantasy

Twilight series(ie. New Moon, Eclipse)%26gt;%26gt;fantasy/romance.........This book

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants series%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt; just plain amazing

Fruits Basket%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;Great Anime

and too many more to list.

6.) Not really the only story that I liked that in was The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.

7.)I have a story idea but I am seriously thinking about writting it so......................

But you should really think about an anime/manga kind of book especially if it is going to be a picture book kind of thing......because if it was like a picture book picture book, then it might seem kind of juvinile and it would not be aimed at the right audience.................I hope this helps............ :)
