the result of a sample survey show that out of 600 littrate people ,350 are employed whereas out of 500 illetrate people ,only 260 are employed.will more sample survey be able to depict the same difference between the proportions of persons employed

Sample survey the result of a sample survey shows that out of 500 litrate people ,350 are employed whereas out
H0: No difference in employment between illiterate and literate people

H1: Not so

Sample 1 proportion x1/n1 = 0.5833

Sample 2 proportion x2/n2 = 0.52

Pooled proportion pi= (350+260)/(600+500) = 0.5545

Varaince of difference in proportions = pi*(1/n1+1/n2)

= 0.554545(0.445455)(1/600+1/500) =0.0009058

S.D. of (p1-p2) is 0.0301

(p1-p2) = (0.5833-0.52)

Z = 0.0633 / 0.0301 = 2.1044

With a significance level of 0.05, the critical z

is 1.96. Since the computed z exceeds the critical z, the hull hypothesis H0 is rejected at 5 % level.
